Performing Umrah is a deeply personal and spiritual journey, but getting the visa sorted shouldn’t be a source of confusion. If you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident planning Umrah in 2025, this is what you need—clearly and directly.

Must be valid at least 6 months from the date of travel.
Ensure there are at least two blank visa pages.
Canadian PR card holders must also submit a valid passport from their country of citizenship along with proof of residency in Canada.
Two photos, white background, biometric style.
Taken within the last 6 months.
No headwear (unless worn for religious purposes); full-face visible.
Meningococcal (ACWY) Vaccine: Mandatory.
COVID-19 Vaccination: Proof of at least two doses.
Polio (if traveling from or transiting through affected countries).
Vaccination certificate must be signed and stamped by a medical professional.
Round-trip airline tickets must be confirmed.
Hotel bookings must be issued from approved hotels in Makkah and Madinah.
Bookings are usually required to be made through authorized Umrah platforms.
Women under 45 must travel with a mahram (legal male guardian).
Required: legal relationship proof (e.g., marriage or birth certificate).
Women 45+ may travel in organized groups without a mahram.
As of 2025, Umrah visas can be issued electronically (e-Umrah).
Applications are submitted via authorized Saudi portals or through an approved travel agent like Amana Travel Edmonton.
Visas are non-refundable once issued and typically valid for 30 days.
Permanent residents of Canada must provide:
